A weekend getaway filled with wine tastings at sunny vineyards seems like a dream. Luckily, it is tangible, just fly to Napa Valley in California. This famous wine country is home to over 400 wineries, and they are all within 30 miles of each other.

Knowing which wineries to try on a weekend visit can be challenging, so we compiled a list of our favorite places for a tasting. For a weekend of ease, build your winery itinerary and hire a private driver to take you to each location. Here is a weekend of wineries to enjoy in the iconic Napa Valley!

Castello di Amorosa

Indulge in a tasting at Castello di Amorosa, also known as Napa Valley’s 14th-century Tuscan castle. The architecture is inspired by a medieval Italian village, providing a beautiful design built by Dario Sattui.

The property is breathtaking, and you will be in awe when your car arrives. The Seated Tasting Experience will bring you on a self-guided tour through the castle, where you can marvel at the architecture and artwork.

Then, you can enjoy their Flagship Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting, which includes three highly acclaimed Reserve Cabernet Sauvignons, each priced above $100 per bottle. Pair your wine with their Cheese & Charcuterie Box for an added cost. The tasting takes place outside on their gorgeous outdoor terrace.

As you leave the castle, you will make your way past their adorable farm animals, which call the exit of the castle their home. Castello di Amorosa is one of the most beautiful places for a weekend winery stop in Napa.

Jarvis Winery

If you ever wanted to visit a winery in a cave, you are in luck because Napa Valley is home to Jarvis Winery. This hilltop winery is located just four miles from downtown Napa and offers wine tastings in an underground cave.

The Jarvis Estate winery sits in a 45,000-square-foot cave tunneled into the scenic Vaca Mountains. Barreling and aging wines are a breeze underground thanks to the high humidity and invariant temperature.

The winery offers a Vintage Tasting, which includes a visit to the Cuve Gallery and the underground waterfall. The 90-minute tour concludes with a stop at the Tasting Chamber, where you will sample six Jarvis Estate and Reserve Collection wines.

You can reserve your reservation in advance to ensure you have a spot on the tour. If you are feeling adventurous, Jarvis Winery is an absolute must-visit!

Domaine Carneros

Experience an enchanting wine tasting at the captivating Domaine Carneros, a home château in Napa Valley. The architecture is Inspired by the 18th century Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne, France.

Domaine Carneros is recognized as a small grower-producer of méthode traditionelle sparkling and estate Pinot Noir. During your visit, you will taste their delicious sparkling wines and pinots on the outdoor terrace, which is inspired by France.

They have various tastings, including the Sparkling Chateau Tasting, which is perfect for those who love sparkling wines. You can pair any wine tasting with one of their Charcuterie boards or Caviar flights. The vineyard and scenic hills of Carneros will make you feel like you are spending a day in France.

Round Pond Estate

Sip wine on the Italian-inspired terrace at Round Pond Estate. The second generation of the MacDonnell family operates this winery, making some flavorful wines. Round Pond is known for being an ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon producer, so if you prefer reds, you are in for a treat.

You will be able to admire the vineyard as you take part in one of their tastings. The Artisan Tasting Experience is one of a kind, as you will sip a selection of limited-production Estate wines paired with artisanal gourmet plates from their Estate Chef.

Some of the small bites you will try are made with olive oil grown and created right at their Olive Mill. You can even participate in an Olive Oil Tasting for an extended time at Round Pond Estate. Homemade wine and olive oil are dynamic duos here, and you will be happy you tried both!

Whether you want to take part in a tasting overlooking a Napa Valley vineyard or sip wines in an underground cave, Napa Valley has you covered. This California wine country is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway. Over 400 wineries will be waiting for you as soon as the wheels touch down.
